Vice President, Sales  A Rhode Island based advisory firm specializing in retiree health benefit plans for large corporations, non-profits and government entities is seeking an experienced sales V.P. who has demonstrated success in developing new group health business with mid-to-large size organizations. The firm analyzes, designs and implements benefit plans specifically suited to the particular needs of clients and their retirees. They offer complete customized programs for pre and post-65 retirees. The position is national in scope. Estimated total compensation in second and subsequent years is in the $200-300K range, (including renewal commissions), with no cap. First year salary range $90-140K. Candidates will have ten years of employee benefits experience with a carrier or broker/consulting firm with at least five years of sales experience. Group Underwriter Chicago, IL This position reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations for proper underwriting of mid to large (100-1000+ lives) group cases including both new business proposals and renewals with respect to benefit design, retention calculations and renewal actions. May perform duties unique to the area, such as: analyze large group life, weekly income, and long term disability cases to ensure appropriateness of rates, retention level, and conformity with underwriting regulations and proposal assumptions; determine coverage's required and desired funding methods; evaluate risk and other contract terms; train underwriting staff in risk analysis and development of proposals; interface with the marketing department to determine appropriate benefit designs and pricing structure. Other duties include: developing and maintaining effective broker/client communications; performing lead role on special projects for the underwriting department as assigned by the Chief Underwriting Officer; issue and maintain department underwriting policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned. Account Manager Washington, DC A top ten life and disability carrier is looking for an account manager to service a book of existing accounts in their Washington, DC office. Candidate will handle accounts in the 100-1000 life range. Must have prior account management experience in group insurance. Knowledge of life and disability products a must. Disability Claims Analyst  This Windsor, CT based position will require investigation, adjudication and management of Long Term Disability claims. Candidate will review claims and make final recommendation for admittance, discontinuance, or denial. The VPC will serve as the enrollment leader for the voluntary business. This leadership position is directly responsible for overseeing and managing the Regional Group Sales support staff.
